Research/Private Study



May I download or print a copy of the material(s) for UBC-related research or my own private study?

Class Handouts



May I distribute or incorporate multiple print copies of the material(s) into class handouts distributed to students in a UBC course?

May I incorporate a copy of the material(s) into a print course pack for use by students in a UBC course?

Learning Management Systems



May I upload an electronic copy of the materials(s) on a learning management system (e.g. Connect, Vista, MEDICOL) for a UBC course or research?




May I upload an electronic copy of the materials(s) on a library course reserves system?




May I incorporate graphs, charts, tables, images and other graphics embedded in the materials(s) in instructional slides and handouts for use in the classroom? 

Persistent URLs



Access to individual items contained in the electronic resource may not be provided to UBC students through a persistent URL (electronic link).

Text and Data Mining


Systematic downloading or harvesting articles, citations, metadata (e.g. using citation managers such as EndNote or Zotero) is strictly prohibited. (You must contact us here. Permission is required or a Text and Data Mining Package should be purchased.)


For Libraries

Is interlibrary loan (ILL) allowed?


The license for this electronic resource does not allow interlibrary loans.

Access available to faculty, staff, and graduate students conducting research at the University of British Columbia.

Limitations on data use:

Section 1.9.: "[An] individual departing [UBC] may not take CRSP® data with him or her on departure, even if he or she departs in the middle of a study involving CRSP® data, and such individual must secure the proper licenses at his or her new institution or employer if such entity does not already subscribe to the necessary Data Files. The license to CRSP® Data Files also does not carry over to or allow access and/or use by 'co-authors' or 'co-researchers' at other institutions, if the individual's institution is not also a subscriber to the necessary CRSP® Data Files."
